Dr. Erica Lei
Dr. Erica Lei was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta before obtaining her degree at the University of Alberta with a major in Biology and minor in Psychology. She then went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry at Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon. During school, she was an active member of AMIGOS, a student led organization that provides eye care services to communities tabroad that have little or no access to healthcare providers. She is a member of the Alberta College of Optometrists and a member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists and the Canadian Association of Optometrists.
During school, Dr. Lei had the opportunity to gain experience in a co-management clinic in Salt Lake City specializing in corrective surgery including LASIK, PRK, and cataract extraction. She had the opportunity to work at a Veterans Affair in Pennsylvania as well as an Indian Health Service in Oregon, gaining knowledge on the treatment and management of ocular disease including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
In addition, Dr. Lei has gained interest in seeing kids for their eye exams as well as the field of sports vision, trying to enhance your pre-existing good vision to make it optimal for active individuals.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Erica at the gym, trying to stay active outdoors, cooking/baking, and trying new food spots. Alternatively, she also likes to spend time at home binging Netflix or Disney+.
