Safety Glasses Are For Your Protection, Not Your Employers.
Not all eyewear is safety eyewear. Your everyday pair of glasses will do little to protect you in case of an accident. If you're exposed to eye hazards at work or home, we strongly recommend getting a proper fitting pair of prescription safety glasses.

3 Important Rules About Prescription Safety Glasses
-
Your safety eyewear should fit firmly, but not too tight. They should sit as close to your eyes as possible without your eyelashes hitting the back for the lenses. We are always looking for gaps of 6-8mm or less.
-
Like all your safety equipment you should check your prescription safety glasses on a daily basis. Frames and lenses should be cleaned regularly and replaced if they become cracked or scratched. Never try to alter or modify your eyewear on your own as this may weaken them.
-
Prescription safety glasses can only protect you if you wear them.
Prescription Safety Glasses Near Me - Aperture f-Stop at Helio Optometry
All of our Aperture f-Stop Safety Glasses are made using high-impact polycarbonate lenses, the gold standard in eyewear protection. Polycarbonate is the most impact-resistant optical lens material on the market today, allowing for the thinnest (2mm) central lens design while still meeting the CSA and ANSI standards. In addition, this material choice enables us to apply scratch-resistant coatings to both sides of the lenses without impacting structural integrity. Other material choices, such as CR39, Trivex, or Hi-Vex, may need a centre thickness that is 25-50% thicker to meet the same impact standards. This increased thickness can reduce visual clarity and increase the eyewear's final weight.
